11.Westernisation and cosmic law.

The Westernisation of the world has been going on since the start of involution.. However the first crystallization of the process came through the Roman Empire with the introduction of authority based on numbers and force.The next stage of westernisation , Christianity added the emotional impulse necessary to bring us up to the recent present. Now westernization is in full swing. Every nation on earth is striving for the same technological, material and intellectual ends. Individuality only seems to get in the way. It is only a matter of time before the original eastern culture of  power in the individual man begins to assert itself again. It will manifest when the full westernization of man is completed-when finally man comes to his senses by realizing what is of value. The force of the intellect will become the power of intelligence, the ability to discern unseen causes, principles and purpose.

This birth or release of the new from the human unconscious, where the idea of it is retained, will require the destruction of most of the human race whether by war or some tremendous natural cataclysm.

Cosmic Law

The scale of violence a man can inflict on the planet or against humanity at any time is controlled by a cosmic or deeply subconscious principle. This principle also operates against any internecine accidents or folly which could threaten the existence of humanity. Such a profoundly important cosmic issue could never be permitted to depend upon an emotionally capricious will, such as mans at its present stage of development. The law states that his ability to destroy at any one time is only equal to the knowledge of himself. He cannot destroy himself until he knows himself; and then he will know better. The demonstration of this cosmic law is in his weapons.they are evolutionary status symbols which were once the club ,knife ,axe and sear. But in spite of our deepest fears,the ultimate weapon has not been developed. The ultimate weapon, symbol of the ultimate knowledge he has yet to achieve, will be to use the earth itself as a bomb or energy device and to disintegrate the whole planet. One day, many scores of thousands of years hence, this may be done deliberately by cosmic man. In the meantime in the peacekeeping power of the bomb man relies in a power outside of himself. The situation is therefore precarious. It only needs one power – mad individual to demonstrate the horrific consequences of the western philosophy. The most powerful man is he who knows a lot but wants nothing. The most dangerous man is he who knows a lot and wants a lot. A man who knows a little and wants a lot is a fool; and just the kind of idiot who will be used for the job.

, finally to become our rhythmic breathing principle.(The true significance of the Greek word ‘psyche’, meaning both soul and breath, came from this.

The gnostic centres were controlled by one man, the master , who knew the truth and wanted nothing. They repelled intruders the same way they had attracted right students- through the power of man they had realized within them. For us today this would seem a state beyond circumstantial possibility. But we are approaching the evolutionary point where for the individual the way back to it can begin.The future gnostics will come to this state through self consciousness , exist in larger number and have a greater influence on humanity as their knowledge towards which humanity will be consciously aspiring-not heading away from, as was the case in the time of the original gnostics when evolution demanded man’s descent onto the matter of circumstantial existence, which is life today.

In the aeons that followed the founding of the original gnostic centres, involution- the process of complication of man’s ideas and his world began to grip. Defence of the gnostic centres was made possible by masters teaching their students to deter attack by projecting their power without movement through their bodies. As this power began to wane ,the movement of the students body was used to harness the attacking force without initiating any violence. Then came the unarmed blow directed at the psychic centres of the attackers body, domobilising him or killing him. And finally weapons were introduced such as the sword which students were taught to use as psychic extensions of their own realized power. All these form of meditative combat taught by the long succession of gnostic masters in the original long forgotten east are represented in the martial arts that survive today. This strength behind many great men and women in history is latent in the individual man today is something the world has little understanding of. It has been perceived by many men but not realized by enough to make it a significant truth for all. It is on a descendence .westernization is in the ascendence- the ideal of world progress powered by the evolutionary drive into intellectual materialism. The westernization of the masses demands continuous streams of information-not knowledge.
